Evicted!
Hello! Many who know of the moniker "Mikawa Ossan" do so due to the presence of a certain forum dedicated to "all things Japanese". Well, as of today I have been banned from their hallowed halls.
It is a temporary ban to be lifted with the coming of the new year, but it will be in effect a mostly permanent one. Once the ban is lifted, I will go through my personal messages to collect the contact information that other kind members have sent me, perhaps write a farewell letter, and then leave.
Perhaps that will be the push needed for me to spend more time on this blog.
For anyone who wishes to contact me or find me in the interim, there is of course this blog, and also there is another forum which I belong to.

I look forward to building a new future on and off the internet in the new year. I wish all the best for anyone and everyone who reads this as well as their families and friends.

It looks like you got unbanned? At least you seem to have gotten your user title back. Anyway, the whole situation stinks. The posts leading up to the banning are still deleted. I think that's the worst part - the stubborn refusal to admit that anything bad has happened or that they acted wrong in any way. If they actually did unban you I hope they gave you a sincere-sounding apology.
Thanks, everyone. I was indeed banned by Maciamo and then unbanned by another moderator that same evening. I do not expect an apology; I know Maciamo better than that. What I can say about the whole debacle is that I have been told that changes are coming, and my presence at JREF depends wholely on what those changes mean.
I joined doinky's forum, although I haven't posted yet, and I, too, am glad that I started this blog. You can thank Jonathon at Jonathon's Japan Journal for inspiring me to do a blog in the first place!
Let's hope those changes include "getting rid of Maciamo"...Ψ(｀∀´)Ψ
Hi, I'm a Japanese native living in Kanagawa. I came across the JREF forum couple of months ago while looking for some information to accomodate my American friend visiting Japan.
I'm just glad I found other people who feel some kind of resentment for this Maciamo guy.
I felt totally insulted and degraded as a Japanese by the biased comments and misleading polls this person set-up. I came pretty close to signing up for the JREF forum but after reading all his writings on the web, I figured he's just a "know-it-all" spoiled kid who can't find his way home. Why bother, it's just a waste of time.
But stll I think his ignorance plus arrogance will mislead a lot of people who come across JREF.
I just had to express my anger somewhere.
