My Poor Old Brain
At the bottom of this entry, you should be able to see a number surrounded by some Japanese text. This is a new feature I have added to the blog as of this post, and what it is, is simple. It's the mental age of my brain.
Keep in mind that it's not the physical age of my brain, no. It's just the relative age of my brain's reflexes.
This age is determined by a piece of software I have recently purchased along with a Nintendo DS. It gives you the opportunity to "exercise" your brain and also tests your brain's current level, which it calls your brain's age.
It's really quite interesting, and I've come a long way! The first time I took the test, it told me my brain was 79 years old. I've been exercising a lot since then, and I'm proud to say that I've brought it all the way down to 45 years old as of today.
It really makes you think, though.
I have read that by "lifetime learning" or in other words challenging your brain consistently through life, you can help push back the onset of such diseases as Alzheimer's. However, I was clearly on the opposite track. I hope I can reverse any damage and keep my brain functioning well.
After all, a brain is a terrible thing to waste, especially when it's your own!

Congratulations. See, you just needed a little jumpstart! You'll be in your twenties again before you know it. :-p
Actually, I do feel better. My brain does feel a bit...more active. Unfortunately my life as currently formulated doesn't exactly promote active brain functions...
and now you'll be spending all your time keeping your brain young that you'll have no time to yourself to make use of it...!!
