Too Big for My Britches
I have long wondered what it would feel like to be too big for your pants, to have a waistline incompatible with your pants or only compatible uncomfortably.
It seems I no longer need to wonder.
Since my all-out push to pack on the pounds, I have put on at least 7 or 8 kilograms, which I'm guessing is somewhere along the lines of 15 pounds. (And no, there is no spare tire forming, either!) This increase in weight obviously has been accompanied by an increase in body size in several areas. One of these areas appears to be my waist.
I say this because the pants I am currently wearing are feeling pretty tight along my midriff now about now. I bought them 2 or 3 years ago when I was still at my old "standard" weight. They used to be a really good fit, but now they make me understand countless jokes about getting older I've heard throughout my life.
It feels good, but...more than a little uncomfortable. I think I need to get a new pair of pants.
